Perfection 1985

 

As I'm going through life, a scenario pops into my head.

 A created disorder that scoffs at the idea of a future.

 A stumble while I was entering a throng

I kept my posture straight and worked hard to keep quiet.

mouth making such whispers and high-pitched giggles:

Stunningly evil eyes look at the large window

 stepping into the path of onlookers who may have differing opinions

 I keep second-guessing if I came out as too commonplace.

 

 

Everywhere there was style and sophistication

On their face is engraved the desire for perfection.

Snakes nest on their neck.

Consider me as a small speck in your eyes.

You must stride straight.

And keep it light.

formally attired as they say,

Every day, you are being handled like a machine.

 

 

 

I think my best option is to whimper.

 But all of a sudden, reality hits me in the face.

 All of their expectations were crushed, and I'm still improving.

 for an unacceptable letdown.

 The desire for perfection is universal.

 And everybody wants to be noticed.

 They desire to possess everything.

They are fixated on perfection.

Stranger of the Midnight Summer Mar 27,2022

 

 

It was a lovely evening

When the sound of the wave touches the ground

The cool breeze and the music play add to the ambiance

The color of the night blends the mood of the evening

 

A stranger from the shores of nearby

Develop a friendship in the summertime by

The conversation was put into place

Comfort and calm were set the night

 

Acacia Trees turn into colors

From blue to the baby pink embrace happiness

From the stars to dark skies

Separated the mood of the night

 

The rain sudden fall into the ground,

I feel abandoned in the middle of the rain

Lonely from afar, Standing in front of a structure

The smell of the falling leaves on the ground

 

I feel cool inside my mind and soul

Craving for a hot chocolate to satisfy me

A stranger of the midnight summer pass by

Who knows one day, we cross our paths once more

Where peace thus resides.

Let faith come with you

As you move forward with life

Beauty is in hope

One voice, one people

Conclusions we have to make

Win or lose, there’s hope

Your choice does matter

But will never be on you

Say who’s, against you

 

8. INNER PEACE

 

Its raging anger

Drop the unwanted baggage

Cry for inner peace.

There’s so much to say

Listen to the nation’s plea

Come all, let’s unite!

In this world called life

Choices are sometimes questioned

No matter what, breathe. 

The introduction of haiku writing in the Philippines can be traced back to the influence of the Japanese occupation, 1941 – 1945, and by understanding it you can have a better understanding of how Japanese literature was introduced and what we have gained thus far

 

In Negros Oriental  this poetry heritage from the Japanese to the Filipinos thru our English Professor Dr. Tichie Ann E. Baena Ph. D who is passionate to make a Haiku poetry alive in her hometown Bais City Negros Oriental and St. Paul University Dumaguete where she is currently a Professor in Communication and Literature.

Walking on the evening of December Avenue

The memories flashback of joy and happiness

Parties and funerals got the family together

 

Love of my old man always share with laugher and ever ending stories

A woman in the corner deep inside full of anger and vengeance

 

New memories will always be a family betrayal and pain deep down in my heart.

My heart is so savage that my blood flow to the ring of the joy of hell

 

Someday, all the painful realities that caused my pain

It will make me realize how God blessed me as a strong man in the end

A Mother Heart

 The strength of a mother

no words can describe she must go on she must survive. you're needed here ,they say. snap out of it , smile , don't let them see you cry.

The tears come when no one is around, let them flow, the pain doesn't go away. Silent tears roll down your face.

It gets easier you're told as time passes on. The pain never goes away! the heartache is still there.
