Katacgahan

By : Leonaga Hermoso Tulabing Larena in 2005

The Sky was crystal blue and mountains so dry
The sun kisses my skin
Dark surface and the volcanic fertile the Land
Smell the aroma of sweet green grass
Tamarind sweet and sour stand for ages

The land ruled by King and Queen
Duke and Baroness
Draw to angry, principle and greed
The family is torn apart

When the wind blows from North to South
East and West to touch your skin
Remembering the glorious  past with pride and honor

Giant’s men rule the land
The surface became dark
People suffering from a feudal system

From famine to War
Make the field very dry
The thirst, no food and the search for clean water for ages

I lay down to the empty land
My heart bleeding so fast
I feel like I’m drowning in shallow water
Giant men thumb my back, destroy my soul and took my identity
I saw my reflection in the crystal creek

After the rain, a beautiful rainbow appeared
My self was restored
The green grows blowing  into the wind from side and side
The little boy became a King
Everything so happy and endless peace

  1. This poem is all about sacrifices . Sometimes you need to sacrifice just to get the things that you want in your life. The rain represents his sacrifices , and the rainbow represents the blessing that he got after he sacrificed himself.

  2. The meaning of the poem tells us that we should encounter struggles first before we become successful. And failure also leads us to success.

  3. The poem wants us to know that in life we must fight and have sacrifices so that we can have the things that we want to have just like the rose rose is a very beautiful flower that we saw but if we try to get that flower not knowing that theres a thorns on it that makes us pain and blood everything in this world is beautiful but expect before we can achieve it theres challenges that we must face and lastly like the rain on the poem it simbolizes the blessings that the it was all granted besides from your ups and downs.

It talks about a boy who lived in great nation who's ruled by king and queen, duke and baroness. A royal family torn by greed and anger.
Soon the land was under attack. The land fell into famine and war. It felt like the kingdom is in a great storm.
After the all the tragedy, peace fell in the land. The land was finally at peace. Happiness is all around. The young boy was a prince, now the king of the kingdom who was once in tragedy. In life we must fight the things we know it is right and have courage to face all the challenges. To sacrifice in order to get what you want in life.Because I know that after all the sacrifices it will be always worth it and fruitful in the end.

The phrase or sentence about a rainbow appearing after the rain greatly struck me. Because we sometimes get overboard and get impatient to the things we want so we prefer it to get it without a sweat. But it doesn't work like that, we have to go over through obstacles first to attain what's for us.

All the sacrifices made by the kingdom and while there was war, lead to a worthy victory.

The poem 'Katacgahan' is all about sacrificing things if we want to have a better life. Each one of us faces different problems in life and it is not easy to handle it on our own but that's life, we face and solve problems. But these problems or obstacles are given to us not because God wants us to have a hard time but because He wants to see how far we can go just to reach our fruitful destination.

This poem is a great example of the qoute "There's always a rainbow after the rain" because we still have a long journey ahead but if we do our best and not give up that easily, we will surely get what God has prepared for us.

It discusses a kid who lived in extraordinary country who's controlled by lord and sovereign, duke and aristocrat. An illustrious family torn by covetousness and outrage. Before long the land was enduring an onslaught. The land fell into starvation and war. It felt like the realm is in an extraordinary tempest. After the all the disaster, harmony fell in the land. The land was at long last settled. Joy is all near. The little fellow was a sovereign, presently the ruler of the realm who was once in tragedy. In life we should battle the things we realize it is correct and have boldness to confront all the challenges. To penance so as to get what you need in life.Because I realize that after all the penances it will be constantly justified, despite all the trouble and productive at last.

The poem needs us to realize that in life we should battle and have forfeits so we can have the things that we need to have quite recently like the rose is an exceptionally wonderful blossom that we saw yet on the off chance that we attempt to get that bloom not realizing that theres a thistles on it that makes us agony and blood everything right now lovely however expect before we can accomplish it theres challenges that we should confront and in conclusion like the downpour on the sonnet it simbolizes the favors that the it was completely conceded other than from your high points and low points.

The poem entitled "Katacgahan" is all about encountering sacrifices that makes life easier after it.

So this poem struck me most because in life we experience different problems and in every problem there will be a solution to it.

In this poem we must encounter all the suffering in life before we obtain the happiness at the end of the rainbow.

The poem is about the positive and negative things life. At first we all felt the bliss of life thats how it really does begin, then we cross againts strugle, problems and hindrance that this life give us so we became deppendent and indeppendent everytime we encounter this things, we also sacrifice. Then after those hardwork we then accept the blessing that the life can give us. But its not just about life in the poem it states the greatness and beauty of nature, it also states the negativity of men so for me the poem is not just being a human where you are free to do anything, its about doing whats right everytime you encounter bad things in life.

Your past was full of sadness that leave your heart a lot of scars. But you never give up and you believe that every storms will always Have a rainbow at the end, you did your best, you showed that you are not weak, and you never lose hope and the past give you a lesson that makes you strong and gives you happiness and peace for yourself. in this world we all experience negativity but never let yourself drown to negative thoughts.

After reading the poem, the boy wants everyone to know how much he loves his mom, how lucky and blessed he is for having a mom like he have right now. As what you can see, the boy stated how much he miss his mom as well as to the place they used to be with wherein everyone can think that his mom is indeed a great and lovable mom. Mom knows everything that's good for us, so if you still have your parents right now, feel lucky and blessed for having them, show them respect and love them always because mind you, you cannot bring time back. Treasure and cherish every moment you have with your Mom.

The poem is about the sacrifices you make to have a better life. Life isn't always about rainbows and butterflies but sometimes you need to encounter the rain and have to strive for it to make it through. Indeed life is hard, sometimes you have to make a choice if is it better to give up or keep on going but its really just about you, how you make your life worth a living and giving your best in order to have a better future. The little boy's life was chaotic but it indeed turned into a great and victorious one.

The poem entitled “Katacgahan” by both Baisanon Poet Leonaga H. Tulabing Larena and Mr. Penn Tulabing Larena in 2005 reminisced the story of a boy who lived in a kingdom. The story exhibits of a beautiful scenario where you can see a sky that was blue, mountains that was dry, how the sun shines on the skin, and the sweet smell of the green grass land. It seems everything was so perfect.
The nation was ruled by a king and queen, duke and baroness. Then, the royal family fall apart because of pride, anger, and greed. These actions made the land horrible and due to careless leading for the nation, it turns out into darkness. The problem got worst when famine and war came suddenly. All of them suffer due to lack of food and water but what do you think is the main reason why people begin to suffer? Soon, the little boy became a king then the nation felt alive and happy again. The new king made the nation rejoice, everything turn back into normal, and endless peace began.
In a kingdom, we must have good leaders that possess moral values. It will lead the palace into successful one. In the poem, the royal family torn apart because of greed and pride and that made the whole kingdom fell. So we must remember that if leaders failed to do their part then there is a possibility that the people will most suffer. But we must also be reminded that there’s a rainbow always after the rain. Don’t be afraid of suffering and failures because they will always be part of life. Those words aren’t hindrance to seek for the happiness and peace instead used it as a lesson to rise up again.

The poem Katacgahan illustrates how the author's life have been in the past. Wherein at first he lived his life w/ glory, pride and honor. But because of how cruel the world could be, our author had a hard times to which he lost everything he cherished and felt like the world crushed him down, tore him into pieces and left nothing but pain and sorrow. But in the end, he learned to stand back on his foot again and found light in the darkness and build his self all over again. In life, we really don’t need wealth, power and popularity. What matter is we lived with contentment. Being greedy can ruin us. We have to be contented on what we have because happiness equates contentment’s. Remember that there is always a rainbow after the rain. Conquer the darkness. As long as we are breathing, everything is possible.

    KATACGAHAN

There is about the perfect family rules by King and Queen. The place is like heaven where all you can see is perfect view full of hope and love.

There come a burden wherein the place was replaced by anger, principle and greed due to self appreciation. The perfect family as well as the perfect place was being parted. The place was shed w/ darkeness, ruled by evil men and all you can see is feudal system.

The perfect place was being empty. The little boy who witnessed the beauty of the place saw it empty. His heart was broken and feels like he cannot do anything to changed it and rebuild it to become a perfect place again.

But He never losed hope and he always taught that after every heavy rain was a rainbow in it. He had the courage to fight for it. He saw a lot of reason to stand up and build not just better place but a perfect place for every man w/ strong hope and love.

In the first part of the poem, the writer described his land. A land where the sky was bright with the sun shining through his skin, with dry mountains, with a dark surface and volcanic fertile that has a sweet smell of green grasses which lies beneath the sweet and sour old tamarind tree. A land governed by rulers who were eaten by anger, principle, and greed. These rulers have made his land and it's people suffer, in all aspects. It made him feel weak in his soul and identity being destroyed, doesn't know what he should do anymore. But he was restored upon seeing his reflection. A new ruler has saved him. A ruler that could give happiness and endless peace on his beloved land.

The poem "Katacgahan" is bringing us to a view of what a horrendous leader could cause to the land being led; poverty, environmental issues, etc. This poem gives us an idea of what a true and good leader should be. A great leader should have the compassion to listen to the needs of its people, a vision, courage, integrity, and humility to bring out great followers. The poem also delivers a lesson with its line: "After the rain, a beautiful rainbow appeared". There are times in our life where we have to fall. To teach us a lesson that could make us stronger. But we don't have to be on the ground for too long. Get up and slay again.

The poem is about sacrifices. The story shows a very good example of life, from the beautiful scenrio where the sky is blue, the mountains are dry and how the sun shines on the grass. The nation was rules but because of greed and selfishness, everything didn’t quite go well. The war was never a solution. A kingdom must have good leaders that treats everyone with pure love. Sacrifices is part of a person’s life and behind each sacrifices there is always something good that will eventually happen. In life, everything doesn’t always go the way you want it to. We must always remember that through these struggles, there is always happiness and peace that will make us realize to never give up and rise again.

Alone, appreciating the beauty of the world, where the sun kisses your skin, the smell that is very refreshing and calming, you were happy but you knew that happiness won’t last, because with just a blink of an eye you came back to reality.

Anger, Hatred, Guilt, Greed, Pride and Regret, all these emotions are all shown in the poem. Everything became dark and tragic after the royal family torn apart. It was very hopeless, famine and war broke and made things even worst. Not knowing what to do he laid down and endured all the pain and hoping this will all end and woke up realizing you’re the only one who can help yourself and then you will be King.

The poem entitled “Katacgahan” by Baisanon Poet Leonaga H. Tulabing Larena and Mr. Penn Tulabing Larena, shows us that what doesn’t kill you makes you stronger because we are strange creatures and we thrive in ideal conditions and struggle through chaos but underneath all that pain there’s always a rainbow after the rain and life must move on. We can be hard on ourselves, However when everything is taken away, life steps in to transfer us to our next journey so we shouldn’t just give up on that easily. So when life is falling apart, look at the future and you will be enlightened for the ruins of the past is just a sign that is pointing you to something more wonderful in the future. Accept your current conditions and stop resisting the flow of life because you can’t stop it you just need to fix it.

Scarlett Johansson once said “I find beauty in unusual things, like hanging your head out the window or sitting on a fire escape.”

The message of the poem tells us to see the beauty in every in way. We should always appreciate little things because this may only last today and not tomorrow, we should be thankful to God especially, of what we have in our everyday life. For example of what’s happening on our planet today, we tend to appreciate the little things we had before this tragedy came, I never thought going to school and learning everyday was the best thing that ever happened to me. It’s the little thing that matters!

The poem entitled Katacgahan is all about how we fight to have a better life. We all have a different problem that we face face every single day. But the poem made me realize that everything has a reason. Because behind those sacrifices there is always a better result. The poem showed to us that no matter what happen in our life we shouldnt lose hope because there is always a rainbow after tha rain. And after those hardwork, sacrifices, and all tragedy we should always remember that there is a God who will not leave us, so we just need to do is to fight and believe to him. Just like the poem it tells us that we should strive and be better not just for ourselves but also for the people who believes on us. It is a challenges and difficulties that turn to a brighter future. Just keep on believing that everything happens for a reason. The poem entitled, "Katacgahan" speaks about a lot of things. The first parts of the poem described how beautiful a life can be. full of love, hope, and respect. But as life goes on, there will be challenges, struggles, obstacles along the way. Times when life is unfavorable on your life decisions. A period of time, where you feel like the world is against you and anything you do is nothing compared to others. But as the famous lyric goes, " there's a rainbow always after the rain." despite the downfall, YOU WILL BE RESTORED. You get up, and keep going. because in every darkness there will always be LIGHT. and I think that the message of this poem is lovely and comforting. Because all individuals came to a point in life where they wanted to give up, but God gave them a pat on a shoulder and said, "keep going." In a world full of darkness, greed, hatred, chaos, jealousy. Without God, you get attached to this world and in this world there will always be sin. so move on, and keep going but with Christ. Because with Him, everything is possible.

In life we encounter countless struggles and heartbreaking problems. It also signifies corruption and malfunctions in our government and that malfunctions led to people's suffering and destruction. But all throughout, there is still a hope for a brighter future only if we will alter our unpleasant ways and watching our steps. Leaders must be a great example to his people and lead his nation to prosperity.

In my understanding, the poem is about a woman who lived with her husbands family. I think she felt alone and suffered under pressure, hence saying that 'Giant men thumb my back, destroy my soul and took my identity'. In the poem, it seems that the poet is trying to stark a contrast between the beauty of the land and the darkness of the people who live in it. She relates the land from being destroyed, to her soul being destroyed. Maybe also relating her body as the beauty of the land, but inside, her spirit is being stolen against her will. In the end of the poem, there is a silver lining for the character of the poem, where she gives birth to a child, relating that she felt self restored and happy, as any normal parents would feel when their child is born. In the ending, all of the land also gets restored, relating that the character was probably depressed in the first few lines of the poem and restored herself when her child was born.

The poem shows us what life really is. Our lives started all sunshines and rainbows. Things were not that hard and it was easier for us to smile and laugh. But as we get older, we will face challenges. Challenges that get harder and harder. Challenges that make it harder to smile, laugh and have genuine happiness. Challenges that make us feel like giving up. But every challenge has it's end, eventually, we will be able to overcome all the challenges. We will be able to smile and laugh. We will be genuinely happy. There may be more challenges coming but we can take it. Brighter days will come no matter how dark and endless the current days may seem because God is always with us. Through Him and His love, we will be able to restore ourselves.

The poem is all about facing challenges and obstacles in our life. We need to learn from our painful experiences to be able to succeed. Facing obstacles in our life is either we overcome them or run, the obstacles we overcome lives on for the good. These are what defines us as a person, it shows how strong we remained. It makes us braver and wiser. Challenges are what makes life interesting, overcoming them is what makes them meaningful. Challenges are the gifts that make us dig out and figure out who we are, what we're made for, and what we're responsible to give back to life.

This poem talks about the ups and downs of life. Its naturality and common rarity to everyone is made to generalize the problems and struggles we all face. In the poem, as it said that from a rainbow comes a storm, the world was at its beauty peak, then as the people noticed the price of beauty, sacrifices were made and problems arose. As simple to explain, as humans as we are, we tend to make mistakes and we try to fix them. Sacrifices must be made.

The poem shows us that life is a word that comes with multiple meanings and experiences. Our life has different seasons and some of those seasons are better than others. Like the seasons change, so do our lives from time to time. There are points in our life that we will be wounded by the thorns of life. Life is not all about lying down in a bed of roses. We will feel the pain of rejection, failure, loneliness and loss but one thing is clear, there is peace after everything. There is rainbow after the rain. We need to learn to embrace the pain that comes along with struggling. Because that pain we are experiencing is a wake-up call. Pain can be good for us because it tells us something needs to change. Then once we can recognize it, we can fix it. You must keep the journey going not because of the guarantee but because of the possibility. Life is a beautiful struggle. Sometimes struggles are exactly what we need in our life. If you were to go through your life without any obstacles, you would be crippled. You would not be as strong as what you could have been.

Our life is like a battle, in order for us to win we must fight. The process itself will never be that easy, it will take a month or a year. That's why we must take these problems and challenges as encouragements to be successful and go on with life. The obstacles that we encounter in our life is just temporary and not permanent. Because everything happens for a reason that there is always a rainbow after a rain. The poem told us that no matter what happened we must always keep moving forward and not lose hope. In this poem it has a big meaning and for me it tells us about facing the upcoming challenges in our life. At some point in our life we will be facing ups and downs in our life so we should always learn how to overcome the challenges that we will be facing. Life is full of surprises so we all know that probably everybody doesn't have a perfect life. Everybody in the world is or will be facing challenges in their life. So when we feel down or brokenhearted after all of the challenges that we will face always remember that there will always be a new beginning awaiting for us where we are fully restored, happy, and have and endless peace as we take a new journey and become a better person that we want to be.

The lesson is that no matter how hard life can be we shouldn't give up we need to suffer and sacrifice for us to have a better and beautiful life or become successful.

Life is indeed challenging. Sometimes it gives us so much reason not to look forward but as they said, there's always a rainbow after the rain. We just need to accept and continue striving hard until one day, your hard work pays off.

The poem entitled "katacgahan" reminds us that on our journey through life, we are going to be presented with challenge after challenge, God will let us experience pain, and that is the truth. There are times where we feel like it's too much and we're tempted to quit, but we should not quit! whatever happens in our life, whatever trials, pains and heartaches, we should know that it is God's way of teaching us, making us a better person and for us to trust Him in the lowest point of our life. He will never abandon us. Our wounds are our strength, This season of our life will soon pass. "there is always a rainbow after the rain"

The poem entitled "katacgahan" talks about the sacrifices that we need to undergo to acquire the dreams in our mind. It tells us that on our way of success there is always a hindrance that could change our mind. That's why we need be fearful, committed, and to accept failure. Why?, Because success demands that we need to overcome our fear and improve ourselves to pursue our goals. It also demands us to be committed, to be courageous, well disciplined and to be responsible of our decisions as well as actions.
We must also learn to accept failure, and if we fail, try once again with determination of moving forward.

Yes, life is very challenging, but yourself and believe that you could attain the success that you've always wanted. Don't forget to be grateful all the time, and don't hesitate to help others, encourage them and believe that God have Mercy on us.

In my understanding, the poem 'Katacgahan' talks about someone's experience and dreams about his country. It doesn't necessarily talk about a country being ruled by Kings and Queens nor Duke and Baroness, it just a country rule by someone blind by greed. Doing things that make makes him happy, not thinking of the people living there.

As the poem ends, it said that there was a beautiful rainbow after the rain, thus the the country is restored. No more famine, no war, just endless peace, just as what he dreamt it to be.

Subject: Understanding Culture, Science , and Politics.

In a literal manner, all I could decipher from this poem, is all about how the peaceful life of a certain individual in a landscape country changes when rulers have come to take over the land. Everything goes downhill and all things have failed to flourish and bloom. But in the same manner, everything switches back again, it may never be the same as before but atleast the chaos is finally over.

From a perspective of my own, I see this as a fictional and an imaginative depiction of life. The way it was beautiful in it's own way without trying to do so much relates to how we should view our lives as well. We don't have to please others to become accepted in the soceity. Kings and Queens represent certain people in our journey that comes to either make you or break you. They teach a lesson or they make you become a more better version of yourself. Character Development. The universe is going to test you and all you have to do is keep up a positive mindset and go with the flow. You may fail and you may lose your reputation but you have to get up. Dust off your shoulders and don't keep your head down. Everything will be alright. Insecurities come from ourselves first when look at our mirrors so we must learn to love them flaws. And lastly don't lose yourself to much just to make people stay, do not sacrifice your identitiy to someone who will not sacrifice for you. Learn to be on your own and become independent because people only like you when they can benefit from you.

Downfalls, failures, success, it is all part of the plan. It shapes you to become wiser and bolder in facing upcoming struggles and challenges. You may lose yourself in the long run but know that at the end of the day, your main enemy is yourself. Yes, people come and go, they trigger your successing rate and they make you rethink of who you are. But you don't have to lose yourself for them. Learn to fight when you have to and let go when needed to. You are not anyone's burden. And lastly, be patient. No success has happened overnight and you must have to face struggles before experiencing extreme bliss and serenity. Trust the Lord and trust the universe. You attract what you desire, you just have to keep the faith.

In my understanding, the poem entitled Katacgahan by both Leonaga Hermoso Tulabing Larena and Penn Tulabing Larena on 2005 talks about the positive and negative things in life. Life is beautiful, but we should always be ready to face adversity and problems. Challenges and obstacles are vital components of life that give you experiences, educate you, and help you become wiser and stronger. This life was given to you because you are strong enough to live it. You were given those obstacles because you are strong enough to drive and thrive through them. Life is hard but believe that there’s always a rainbow after every storm.

    The poem "Katacgahan" by
Leonaga Hermoso Tulabing Larena and Penn Tulabing Larena talks about our life. In the first part of the poem, it shows the beauty of life, the happy things that life gives. But, as time goes on, life gives us many trials and problems. It shows here, that in life, it is not always sunshine and rainbows. It gives us tests to test our resilience, to be brave and to prepare us for the greater problem that we will be facing. We have reached a point in our lives as if no one can save us. We have reached the point that we have nothing to hold on to and just want to stop and give up. But, in those cases, we are not really alone because God was there to support and help us. He is always there for us and He is the light in the dark part of our lives. If we are going through something, let us just call our God and He will come. Life has many ups and downs, but we must not give up and face it with courage. Let us always remember that after each rain, a beautiful rainbow will appear that will give us joy and peace.

The poem entitled "katacgahan" talks about the struggles, hardships and even dreams of a mere citizen for his country. Where once an organize community lose its peacefulness when a ruler hungry of greed take its place on the throne. As you look closely to yhe poem, those hardships mentioned above happened in real life and some even experience same struggle. The poem also reflects the ups and downs of life that leaves a remarkable lesson to each individual.

In the end of the poem, it teaches us that no matter how damaged, broken, or ruined someone's life is, nor a thing or whatever it is, we still have a lot of reasons to build what's been a mess for a long. We have reasons to stand up once again and restart.

The poem entitled 'Katacgahan' by Leonaga Hermoso Tulabing Larena and Penn Tulabing Larena, tells us how life can be so beautiful but it can also be an uncertain rollercoaster. Life is not always easy, there will always be ups and downs. But we must face this with courage, letting the beauty of life act like a balm, which makes the pain bearable during trying times by providing hope.

Just like the little boy who witnessed it all, he saw how the place had a perfect view that is full of love and hope became an empty land because of greediness and anger.

His heart bled upon seeing this but someone pat his back. He stood him up and the little boy had hope. He helped the boy to surpassed it all. Then, everything was restored, the place became happy again and had an endless peace.

The poem tells us that we will not be able to experience a wonderful life without experiencing diffenrent challenges and obstacles. These challenges will mold us to become stronger and the best version of ourselves because God will never give us challenges he knows we can't conquer. As the saying goes 'Everyone wants happiness, no one wants pain. But you can't have a rainbow without a rain. '

The happy and peaceful family suddenly changed.
The family that was once ruled by the mother and father gradually changed due to misunderstanding, principle and greed.
    Their family was torn apart.

When the wind blows he remembered the
memories of the sweet and loving past that is full of sincerity and love.

When the time comes that the father was the only rule of the family, their family problems got worse.

Then the boy thought, why is this happening?
He was broken hearted because he can’t do anything about it. He was upset to his father because he destroyed their family. He thought that someday maybe he will be like his father.
When the time comes that he will also have his family, he will prove that he’s not like his father.
He will cherish, love and care for his family. And will do anything just to make it happy.

There this saying that 'there's a rainbow always after the rain' we humans need sometimes to break to glow or to experience beautiful things. In this way we learn how to struggle first before we get to be happy. Life thought us that not all joy in this world will come easy. Its like you need to strive hard for it. In this poem entitled "Katacgahan" shows that there this man who experienced a lot of hardships and struggles but at the end of the poem life let him experienced joy and happiness because he did not surrender and maybe he knows that he's still not happy and if he's still not happy the story hasn't ended yet.
