Pretty Girl

It was a hot afternoon in the place of sweet and honey
When I saw a little girl crying in –front of the grave site
A sorrowful encounter was the grandmother laid into rest

Her face composed of wildflowers, we say
So, we leave the sweet innocent face fondly there:
The beauty and hope of grace beyond, lie there!

The moon sings the relaxed forest with wildflower,
To bloom at midnight hour
She was innocent found true love at last

To beautiful morning stars
You are incomparable my angel
My heart point with joy at the thought of you
My face exhibits beautiful expression at the sight of you
Behold a beautiful face of sincerity & sweetest of all creatures

  1. We often don’t sit in the moments of hope, so one way we can honor that feeling is by savoring it more. How can we acknowledge and hold onto those positive feelings for longer than a fleeting moment?

Regardless of what hope looks like for us, know that hope is "more than just a state of mind; it is an action-oriented strength", according to Houston.Honor our resilience by honoring our ability to hope indeed. And no doubt that she is full of hopes at that memorable moment of her life wondering if she could still be able to bring back to life one of her family members, based on what I visualize in the poem. And I do believe in a woman who can stand up for herself. I believe in a woman who doesn’t need to hide behind her emotions. I believe that if we have problems as a woman we deal with them. We face the world with a head held high and you carry the universe in our hearts, that's the spirit and definition of a pretty girl in my point of view not just by how she looks but the way she handles with grace and deals with her emotions onto the situation that she handles on the most unforgettable moments in her lifetime.

The poem is about the author’s encounter with a girl crying. She was crying because her grandmother passed away. The author describes the girl as someone with an innocent face and beautiful. I think that in this poem, the author expresses his admiration for the girl he saw and thought of her as an incomparable angel and how his heart feels joyful when he thinks about her. I think it’s more than just the face but more on what’s inside. She was described as sincere and sweet because he saw the sincerity in her face as she cries for her grandmother and that shows that the girl loves her so much and that she cares. She was honest with what she felt and I think that it’s a strong thing to do. Being vulnerable yet hopeful in difficult times is such a beautiful trait because you get to move forward with life without invalidating how you feel. I think this is what the author appreciates about this encounter.

    REFLECTION:
In my own understanding about the poem, acknowledge our resiliency by recognizing our propensity to hope. And, based on what I see in the poem, she's full of optimism at that pivotal time in her life, wondering whether she can still bring back to life one of her family members after all these years. And yes, I believe in a strong woman who will stand up for her own interests. I believe in a lady who isn't cloaked in her emotions. As a woman, I think that we deal with issues as they arise. When the author first saw the girl sobbing, he wrote this poem on his experience with her. She was in tears because her grandma had died. Her innocence and beauty are described in the story as well. There is a feeling of delight in my heart when I think of the girl I saw and thought of her as an unmatchable angel when I read this poem.
I believe it's not just about the appearance, but also about what's on the inside. His description of her was "sincere and lovely," since he could see it in her face as she sobbed and cared for her grandma. She was up forward and honest about how she felt, and I admire her courage for it. It's a wonderful quality to have when things are tough because it allows you to keep moving on with your life without having to justify your emotions. This, I believe, is what the author values most about their interaction. That, in my opinion, is the spirit and definition of a pretty girl, not just because of her appearance but also because of the way she handles and deals with her emotions in the most memorable situations of her life.

Being sad is natural part of being human. Thought times never last. My reflection about this poem, they saw a little girl crying in despair a tearful eyes she was so heartbroken it's because she lost her grandmother. My understanding is that words that makes us feel hard and understood, they allow our pain and how heavy life can feel sometimes we also need to get put back together again. To be reminded of the ways, we can get through this, how she overcomes, because life gives us hope. The author describe the little girl as pretty, innocent yet bold and courageous it's because she show us how she handle difficult situation because it's heavy painful losing someone you love she show us how strong she is. How she handle the difficult situation because it's painful losing someone that you love.

The poem entitled “Pretty girl” by Mr. Penn Larena is about how he encountered the sweet innocent girl who is crying in front of her grandmother’s grave. The author compares the girl’s face to a wildflower, which means she is like a flower that grows freely, resilient, and beautiful. She continually tries to overcome her fears, and knows how to control herself. She isn’t afraid to reveal her feelings and emotions. Even in dark situations she tries so hard to be brave and courageous.
The author admires the girl not only on her outside look but also her inside look. He saw the girl how sincere and loving to her grandmother. Most of us experienced same as the little girl. Dealing with death, specifically the death of someone we love, is one of the most stressful experiences we can go through. We are having different reactions, and it is normal if we think we are riding a rollercoaster of different emotions. That’s what the little girl feels like. She’s in pain when losing her grandma.
I do believe that the true and real definition of a pretty girl is not only about appearance but it is also based on how strong you are, how resilient you are in all trials and knows how to handle difficulties. I’ve learned that whenever things get dark or difficult sometimes the only thing that keeps us going is hope. Hope helps us to keep going when we feel like giving up. It pushes us past the pain and obstacles on our way.

    My Reflection:

What I understood in the poem is that the sweet innocent young girl lost her grandma. Her grandma then became and angel and guided her through all of her life. Being with her as her guardian angel as she grew old. Day by day she witnessed how her granddaughter misses her so much. And seeing the pain grow in to a loving memory. As days pass by her granddaughter's beautiful face also blooms even more. The grandma saw how her granddaughter grows old and witness her found love. She was never gone but had been with her granddaughter always. The bond in their hearts were never broken but only grew stronger. A love of a grandma would always be irreplaceable.
Also, the poem tells us that even if we are suffering, there are many beautiful things around us that gives us hope. The young little girl itself is the example of hope, having such beauty inside and outside that enables her to bloom and grow freely as a good person just like how she show love to her dead grandmother.

    Reflection:
In the poem of Mr. Penn Tulabing Larena, as I glance to the title of the poem "Pretty Girl", the idea that comes up initially to my understanding was that the poem will be about the physical beauty of a girl, the outside, pleasant feautures of an individual, for it is what people in this world could notice straight away. But then the poem possesses a deeper meaning it's not about any of the shallow looks of a person. A girl crying in front of the grave of her grandmother may seem just a scenario but as I seek closer, the girl truly loves her grandmother so much that she was so devastated when she died, she really missed her. Her heart so young yet so pure of love for her grandmother. The grief of the girl was so visible, the eyes tells the truth beyond what the face also expresses. Aside from a being of such beauty, her face also radiates her mourning. As I reflect to the poem, I can relate to some these situations when my brother died. My brother had a medical condition termed as hydrocephalus, he died when he was 11 and I was 9 at that time, year 2014. We don't have fun moments for he can't stand, talk, he can't do any movements. I felt such regret for if only I should've cherished every moment with him. Even if he can't communicate to me, I should've talk to him about anything, he should've been my human diary. The strike of sadness and regret really hit me recently, it was so frustrating to think that it was really too late. I felt like I was in the bottom of the deepest trench while everyone in my family were also sinking with me. The poem exhibits that the dark times of someone who lost their loved one was really not an easy time of their lives and such a scourging moment for anybody. The pain was unexplainable, for one's was lost and can't never ever return. The footprints of memories were only left, and can't ever be added more. The depiction of a pretty girl is not the physical appearance, it's how you connect with people especially with your family, how sincere and loving you are to be right their side in good times and bad times and how tough you are in times of the raging storms and unjust or cruelty that life may bring was the highlight of this such ravishing poem.
