Everlasting love 2001- by Penn T. Larena

When a son was born

The family was happy

Every afternoon we walked to shell beach sand

Togetherness is like Everlasting love

The water was so green and cool

The firefly light  in the nipa palm such a beautiful evening

But when God gave us sadness

The struggle in life with a broken heart

A memory of sad and loneliness appear in my shadow

When you saw everybody was wearing black and sadness on their face

You feel the smell of the floral scent scratch everywhere

A tear drops with a sense of sadness and feeling the darkness

When the sound of the roaster and the dawn came the morning light

The morning glory appear gracefully with majesty

The aroma of green grass spread the surrounding,

feeling the sadness of losing someone at your Tender age

The woman stands in silence holding the two boys and promise to care for them

Growing up I feel the loneliness of a love

I was waiting for a long time

My heart moves from cold to fire

Would that I could walk with you,

Along some distant seashore,

Leaving only footprints,

When my time comes in the future

I want  to see your  sweet smile

I want you to wait for me in the old railway

I will hold your hand to the white light

To meet my creator received my everlasting love

Holding you forever and the love I want for eternity

  1. I learned that love is everything. Everlasting love is all we need especillay with our family. I learned the everlasting love is the love of our God, he sacrificed his life just for us. And for me that's everlasting love.

  2. what i could gather from the poem was that it speaks about the loss of a loved one, maybe a father. the writer talks about the experience of losing his father at a very young age. he mentions about memories he shared with his late father and memories that signify a burial. in the end he portrays his desire to meet with him once more when his time to meet his creator would come

    REFLECTION ON EVERLASTING LOVE :

The poem written by the poet Penn Tulabing Larena , entitled as “ Everlasting Love “, somehow depicts or rather showcases the unconditional love a young boy has for his deceased love one, probably the death of his father and how he witnessed such a depressing event at such a young age. It tells a story about a once happy and complete family, and the good memories they spent together , which suddenly shifted to a sorrowful memory of a burial ceremony, and was just left with the care of their mother, alongside with his brother. Even when the boy grew up, he never forgot about him , and how he longs to see him again , when God calls it his time to enter the heavens above and be reunited with the one he wished most to be with again. It tells about the love that stays even when the other one has gone to the other side.

Losing someone dear to you would be very devastating, but that is how life is . People come and go, even just a break up from a relationship hurts, how much more if you lost the person who took care and moulded you into the person you are now. Death, is something we have no control of, thus we have to move forward despite the grief, despite the pain, cause if ever we think about those who went above, looking down at us , they wouldn’t be able to rest peacefully knowing that the people they left down here are devastated. They would want the most is too see us smile and be happy.
Another thing that we must put unto mind , is to love like there’s no tomorrow, because as we know the future is unknown. We should make most of the time we have for the people we love...
