Dark Knight
The night was dark, and the air was thick,
No moon shone bright, no stars to pick,
Blackout only us, and the heat was on the rise,
Sweat trickled down all over my body, like tears from my eyes.
Amidst the darkness, a knight appeared,
His armor dark, his heart ungeared,
He braved the heat, and fought the night,
With courage and might, he held his plight.
The darkness whispered, and shadows crept,
The air was still, and silence kept,
But the knight stood tall, his will unbroken,
Defying the heat, and words unspoken.
The night wore on, and the heat grew worse,
But the knight stayed strong, his sword averse,
He battled the darkness, and vanquished the heat,
His strength and courage were an unyielding feat.
And when the dawn broke, and the darkness fled,
The knight emerged, with sweat on his head,
He looked up high, at the rising sun,
And knew that his battle was finally won.
For he had fought the night, and won the day,
His bravery and strength, are a tribute to say,
That in the darkest hour, when all seems lost,
The knight of the dark will bear the cost.
