VALENTINE'S DAY IN 2014

The light was dim
The table was set
The candle was the witness

Mushroom/Arugula Salad
Pasta in thick tomato sauce
Herbed chicken
Blueberry cheese cake
Bottle of red wine
The music was great

Reminiscent of years gone by
The laughter was pure
Un-choreographed
And true
The dance
It was perfect

Everything was bliss
The movie after dinner
Oh love, it said
It always has room for mistakes
But one who's loving shouldn't fear
Then slowly everything faded
Everything gone
What's left were memories of a wonderful evening
And the hope that one day, love will be forever

(This poem was written on February 14, 2014)

    1. The poem talks about a moment of love at dinner, it tells the story of a person of full bliss during the moment, but it also talks about the distress and sadness of what was.

for a love that was, a moment of joy was intact.

    Reflection:
The poem in my opinion is talking about a romantic moment during valentines. The first few paragraphs mentions that it was a celebration, and in the last paragraph it shows sorrow that the celebration ends, there are no clear clues of the whole context of why the text ended in such a weird way, although in my opinion it was a person who attended a party but he or she is single in the end.

(PS: Nice poem, very admirable :) )

The poem was about remembering his previous Valentine's Day celebration. It shows us how lovely things were back then and how slowly things went upside down. Since he stated there that “and the hope that one day love will be forever,” I get the impression that the author was giving us a narrative about an old lover who may have died or broken up with him.

The poem was about reminiscing his previous Valentine's Celebration that was full of happiness and purity. The poem is really emotional and some people can use this to describe their valentine's day. In this poem, it shows us how romantic and lovely were back then and how slowly things turn into sorrow and longing. In a stanza where he stated "It always has room for mistakes" maybe one of them committed a mistake that turn into a break up, misunderstanding, or maybe one died. Also, it teaches us to treasure and cherish someone/something because you might lose it.

Upon reading the poem, this poem signifies the love that is fading and didn't last forever for the both of them. Reminiscing is the only thing that remains how they are happy and how pure their love was back then. There are things that you will not expect that will happen for some reason, all you need to do is to accept and let go of the things that make you unhappy and for you to be able to live in a new and grown self. For the remaining phrases of the poem, you can feel the sadness and a feeling of sorrow. The lesson that I've learned here is everything has value if you know how to value. Show them appreciation and love as long as they are still present in your life.

The poem is about the man reminiscing his memories of the last dinner with his girlfriend. The poem starts with him narrating about the happy times of his dinner, the food they ate, their dance and the movie they watched but towards the end of the poem he stated, "What's left were memories of a wonderful evening." It reminded him that it was all a memory. The poem shows the emotions the man felt from happiness and joy to sadness and longing. This poem teaches us that we should always treasure the people around us because we won't know when we will lose them.

The poem talks about reminiscing the moments on that Valentine's day evening with his girl wherein everything was perfectly fine and that dinner was the best he ever had. That memorable night was full of genuine love and intention. But, he stated that everything were just memories and moments may never repeat itself again but the memories will stay alive in his heart forever. The poem is a great inspiration for us to celebrate Valentine's day with the person or people we love and embrace each moment before they will remain as memories.

This poem entitled “Valentine’s day in 2014” gave off a heart-breaking feel. Having the best night, candle-lit dinner in a fine restaurant with a divine meal. A pure, sincere un-scripted laugh. A piece of romantic music and a naturally moving dance, it was perfect, a dream come true date. Movies after dinner, showing love and romance. Everything is just perfect. There might be little wrongs here and there but if the love that was felt between the two is real, then they shouldn’t worry about a thing. Unfortunately, I guess the love these lovers had only lasted on a date night. Sadly, this perfect night will only live now as a memory, wishing the love lived forever.

But then, because of a mistake, everything became just a memory of a wonderful evening. The lesson that I've learned here I guess love would not be love without a risk of being burned, and all of those sadness happens for a reasons and must live from it.

The poem was about reminiscing his past Valentine's Day celebration which was full of happiness and pureness. It is indeed very sentimental, and some people may find it as describing their Valentine's Day. It depicts what sentimental and beautiful life was back then. It also how they gradually deteriorated into sadness and emptiness. In a stanza where he says, "It always has room for mistakes," maybe one of them made mistakes that resulted in a failed relationship, miscommunication, or death. It moreover teaches us to value and appreciate someone else because you will never know when you'll lose it.

  12. Valentine's Day in 2014 is a poem that is written by Rolin Migyuel Cadallo Obina. This is a poem about the persona, looking back on his celebration of Valentine's Day in 2014. He reflects on how romantic the setting was, how delicious the dinner was, and how lovely the film was. What a perfect moment he had with the person he loves deeply. But in the blink of an eye, everything is gone. The person he was with has vanished as well. The only thing he had left was the memory of that one unforgettable night he spent with his beloved. And all he can do is hope that someone will come and not abandon him. The poem made us feel what the persona was feeling at the time. And reminded us to cherish every moment we have with our loved ones because they can leave us at any time and we have no choice but to watch and let them go.

The poem is all about the speaker missing the person that has passed away or that has left him. It is all about reminiscing the past, he is recalling the memories of a wonderful evening and all the happy and good memories that they have made together. Valentine's Day 2014 is all about love, and how it feels when you're in the arms of someone you've been in love with for a long time.

The poem was about a prior Valentine's Day party he had. It depicts how beautiful things were back then and how gradually everything turned opposite. The night was definitely one of the most unforgettable events in their life. But, due to a mistake, everything became only a recollection of a great night. The poem is a fantastic encouragement for us to enjoy Valentine's Day with the person we love and we care about , we have to cherish every moment with them before they turn into memory.

The poem talks about happy romantic memories of a person who is truly in love. While he is still alive, it will linger always in his heart and mind and soul. But there is always an end to everything, no matter how great or strong it is. Everything passes and fade into thin air, except for one thing;the memories. Yes, memories will always stay for everyone while still living. This is the only thing we can hold onto. And the best memory ever is perhaps the love story of our lives. Those times, when we wish it will never end. The things that we do while we are in love like a romantic dinner under a bright moon or by a candle with a champagne or expensive wine. Those moments when lovers dance barefoot on a soft white sand on the beach or dancing while the band plays their favorite song. But these things are passing and only one can do is save it on their hearts and mind. It will become only memories, but the good thing is it's always a happy memory, something that is worthy to cherish. And when the person you love perishes, reminiscing those precious moments brings healing to an aching heart, and the longing to bewitch that person again is made possible by holding on to those memories.

The poem was written prior to his last Valentine's Day date with his lover. In the first part, he recalls how perfect their date was, from the setting to the food, and how happy they were at that time but as the poem ended, "Everything gone What's left were memories of a wonderful evening". It reminded him of a recollection from his past. Due to the one mistake, everything became a reminiscence of a wonderful night. This poem advises us not to take someone for granted just because they are still with us, for all of the good times we had with our loved ones may only be a part of our memories in the future.

The poem is about remembering his perfect Valentine's Date. From the light to the food the author remembered it precisely since it was a date for his loved one. The poem was full of love and sweetness; we can feel how amazing the night was. But it also had a surprisingly sad part and he shared that everything was gone. We don’t know if his lover had died or they had broken up. The poem can make us think that there will be someone that you couldn’t forget even how long it had happened. They would be always in our hearts and we’ll treasure them until the end even they are not with us today.

Sometimes—it’s good to reminisce, but make sure you’re not putting your life on hold just because you’re holding on so tight with the memories of the past. The sweetest ones are tempting because it creates an illusion that things and people can still stay the same, yet in reality—they’ve changed...

It’s inevitable. You’ll get hurt—even if you don’t deserve it. You’ll be wounded and it won’t heal easily—even if you wanted to. You’ll break your spirit—even if you’ll try your hardest not to question things & people and why they had to break you. YOU LOVE. You just love—and that’s enough.

The poem was a reminisce of the wonderful moment they had on valentines 2014. The blissful night, the laughter, the food, and the great music with the right mood. How everything they did feel so right at that moment. Wondering how it was long gone and only the memories remained but the happy times will always be unforgettable.

During Valentine's Day, a man recalls earlier memories of romance with a lover. The writer's description of the dinner table set-up to the events that lead to a beautiful and amazing night in his life is truly special and emotional in a manner, almost as if we were replaying the event in our heads, knowing the tiny possibility that it will happen again. A fragment of a memory that we want would recur reminds me of special moments in our lives, whether for love, family, friends, or self. We treasure the opportunity to relive these joyful memories before they fade from our minds. The writer believes that love will be everlasting in another instance towards the end of the poem, which captures his sentiments for his companion that night. It's the same for us; we recollect a moment and wonder, "What if?" But that will never happen since life is always changing and reality is shifting. Only we have power over what we appreciate and retain before it becomes another memory.

It was about his past celebration of Valentine's Day, which was delightful and genuine. This poem is very touching, everybody could relate to it.
This shows how the valentines were so romantic back then and how it turns into grief and nostalgia. It teaches us to treasure someone we love because we don't when they will be gone. As he pointed out, make room for mistakes because nobody is perfect. We all make mistakes, don't let that mistake get in your way. Forgive and forget before you regret.

The poem is about the the writer's sweet and loving moments on valentine's. He and his partner had fun and were purely inlove with each other. But sadly all good things must come to an end. He and his partner may have split up and now he feels a void is missing in his life. He now feels sad because he can no longer spend valentine's with his beloved partner.

The poem talks about a person reminiscing his past. You can really see the longing that he felt through the 3rd and last stanza. Nothing last forever but the memories that we share with our special someone or the people we cared about, remains. And that those memories are the only thing that reminds us of how happy we are during those time. In love, making mistakes cannot be avoided but we should always learn from our mistakes so that we can avoid doing the same mistake over again. The author also hope that one day he can finally find love that will last forever.

Rolin Migyuel Cadallo Obina wrote a poem for Valentine's Day in 2014. This is a poem about the ego, reflecting on his Valentine's Day celebrations in 2014. He thinks of how great the film was, how romantic the location was, and how exquisite the food was. What a wonderful moment he shared with the one he adores. But everything vanishes in the blink of an eye. He has also vanished with the guy he was with. He had nothing left but the recollection of that one incredible night he shared with his girlfriend. And all he can do now is hope that someone will come to help him rather than forsake him. We were able to sense what the persona was feeling at the moment because of the poem. And it reminded us to savor every moment.

The poem was a beautiful recollection of the events that transpired on valentine's day. It was well-written as the readers could feel as if they were truly there in person. Though we have not experienced the events firsthand, reading the poem gives you an odd feeling of familiarity and nostalgia. The poem ends in bitter realism, that things will come to an end and only memories will be left. It makes us hope that above it all, love will last forever

The poem talks about love, specifically on Valentine's Day as stated in the title. It described the scenario the person was in, the food, the surroundings and the feeling. It talked about how love gives us an overwhelming feeling, thinking how everything that is happening right now is as perfect as it can be, especially when you are with your loved one. But then here comes life, here comes the reality that would always bring contrast to almost everything that we hoped it could be perfect. Mistakes, regrets, pain, betrayal, anything is possible... so as in love. Some love fades, which eventually goes away just like a wind passing by. Only the good memories will be left and cherished. But as the last line in poem goes, "And the hope that one day, love will be forever", LOVE can be forever. It is only the people and the physical appearance that goes, love will always be there.
