Photograph ( 2014)

The end of a hot summer
When you fell off missing someone
I set down and take a breath
An uncomfortable feeling and looking at the horizon
I saw the vintage Aparador with full of good memories

I open it, i saw the family album
When I open it, I saw an old photograph
A flashback feeling  the horizon
A boy and the adult lady
Showing the everlasting love and care for each other arms
A memories lane appear in so many colors

Summer of the 1980s
The place is so white and pure
The local Cherry blossom was flowing all over the place
The love of a mother to her son

The joy of togetherness
A son  hold her so tight
The smell of her perfume content the place
No worrying of problems for the future
Just me and the world of happiness

I love you son
I love you Ma
You are my life
Celebrating the joy and sorrow in life
The clock stop and moment can speak a thousand words
They will tell you how the tragedy of family and love can be

Holding a piece of History
The memories will just
be part of the past
The future will be holding our desires
The love will be everlasting in our hearts
The relationship of a mother and son forever

  3. Well the poem talks about the son missing his mom. He sat down and look at the album with all the picture they had and all the memories. Thus, making him relive every moment in the past. The past wherein a old lady and a young boy love, whose love for each other was greater than anything else. With the joy of togetherness and all the happiness in the world. For the mother's love for her son is everlasting.

  6. The poem "Photograph" is all about the love of a mother and the son, the son who is missing his mother. I can see in the story that he is missing her mom so much. He sat down and saw the vintage Aparador with full of good memories. And then there, he found an album. He opened and found a photo with him and her mother holding so tight with him and the face with so much laughter and the joy of togetherness, not worrying problems for the future. So the poem tells us that we should love our parents when they are still alive and treasure those moments and the memories we had. Take good care of them and make them happy always and not doing things that they would get mad. Always love our parents before it's too late. Treasure those memories that we had because family is important. They are the reason why we have a better future cause they support us of what we're doing is good. And teaches us the right and good things.

This poem discusses the child missing his mother. He plunked down and take a gander at the collection with all the image they had and all the recollections. Accordingly, causing him to remember each minute before. The past wherein an old woman and a little youngster love, whose affection for one another was more noteworthy than all else. With the delight of harmony and all the bliss on the planet. For the love of a mother for her son/daughter is everlasting.

The poem was a reminisce of the man who saw his own
mother and him the boy that was full of love by his own mom. He still imagine the moments with his mother when they have their own bond and thinking that how he really love her mom as he can see it in the photograph and how his mom love him and cares for him. But that was a memory, memory full of happiness and love. It was all in the past but the love will never fade because a love of a mom to his son can never be replaced by anyone else.

The poem "Photograph" makes us realize how much our Mother loves us even if we have our flaws.

The author of the poem showed that he really missed the good old days where he can still spend time with her Mother. Smelling her perfume that lingered around every corner of their home, holding each other so tightly, capturing memories together, and not caring about the future.

As time flies by the author is still reminiscing the good memories he had with his beloved mother.

The poem caused me to understand that each mother's adoration is unlimited and is interminable. What's more, will everlastingly be cut in our souls.

The sonnet discusses how he, the child, misses his mom sincerely. The photos with their recollections caused him to think back the great occasions and the terrible.

The Poem Photograph has many meaning love, memories, mother and son and etc. This poem has struct us all, in our life we grow old,we work, we also rest and as time pass by we die, its reality and before that unavoidable death we tend to go back where we came from, our home where we first set our life. Looking at every corner that we used to be hiding, looking at old things we used to play and albums that our parents made for us in short memories of old time. This poem for me is a guide where we must not to forget everything that has happen to us in our life, it is also telling us to come back once to our first station of life.

    "Photograph"

The poem is about the unconditional love from the mother to his son. when the boy saw the vintage Aparador with full of good memories he started opening it, and there, he saw an old photograph and the good memories bring back! thinking that, that was the time that no worrying of problems for the future. only love, happiness and joy between the mother and son and that loved was pure and everlasting in their hearts forever. In this poem, I realize how lucky the boy is. He had a very good and pleasant memories that lived in his heart forever even if his mother was gone the good memories of his mother remain. In my existence I also realize that not all children experience this kind of memories because other children never had a chance to met their mother so in my opinion, i suggest if you still have parent, start making a good memories with them because we never know when we cannot see them forever and the last thing you do is regret because you never had a good memories with them.

  16. For me, the poem talks about an old picture that was taken in 1980’s. A mother and a son were holding so tight, letting her son knows how much she loves him wholeheartedly, a perfume that smells of a future coming, a great future for the son. Even though it’s already old pictures but it is worth a thousand words but the memories of it is priceless ❤️

The poem is about a boy, who happens to be looking at a memory, a memory through history, history that is printed and pasted on the photo album that brought the boy back to the days of when his mom was his world, where he flet so much love, he could smell the perfume, and he doesnt have to worry about the problems of the future, he was just there, with his world of happiness... his mother. Just that memory can speak a thousand words, a memory is precious when it comes from the right person, more importantly, from the mother

Photographs play an important role in everyone’s life – they connect us to our past, they remind us of people, places, feelings, and stories. Photographs are representations. Not just representations of time and events, and splashes of vibrant colors but it speaks to our own emotions and to the thoughts and emotions of others. Moreover, we preserve the important events and people in our lives through photographs.

In the poem entitled “Photograph” by a Baisanon poet Mr. Penn Tulabing Larena, a man reminisced the good old days by a photo he found in an album from their “aparador”. It was a photo of him and his mother when he was little. One look at the photo and all the memories came flashing back to him. The photograph depicts the special relationship between a mother and son. It was a bond that though the time has passed, it cannot be broken. A mother’s love will always bring comfort to his son that even through a single photo – he can feel it. As though it was yesterday, he remembers all the good things that happened on that day it was taken. He vividly remembered all the important details. And from that moment the photo was captured, all the feelings was ingrained to his heart.

Some of our greatest experiences are actually from pictures. Photographs create us pause and think on the times we’ve experience before. It gives us nostalgic moments. Our mind becomes fickle with moment, and we begin to forget stuff. Pictures are the only manner we can register them back. The poem tackles that very point in life. If you are living in a fast phase kind of life, you somehow forget some important details of your life and one way for you to look back on is through photographs.

The poem entitled Photograph is all about the love of the son to his mother. The son who's missing his mother who passed away. The poem made me realized that every single day we should cherish the moment with our love ones. Because we don't know how long we can stay in this world. We should always make them feel how we loved them and how they are important to us. Because all of this in the world are all temporary but all the memories will always be here in our hearts forever.

The poem entitled Photograph (2014) is all about memories we always love to reminisce. I know that when we see some photos or picture, we often remember what had actually happen during that time. And this photo is all about an everlasting love of a mother to his son. The love that the mother had shown to his son is beyond measure and incomparable like no word or adjective can ever describe. This poem reminds us a loving mother that always there with arms open, no matter what. A face that always smiled. It tells us to not worry what will happen in the future, just be happy. For photograph said, to capture within it, all the smile, happiness, love and memories that we will forever treasure.

"Photograph" expresses Saudade, a deep emotional state of nostalgic or profound melancholic longing for an absent something or someones that one cares for and/or loves while simultaneously having positive emotions towards the future (Wikipedia).

The poem starts with the writer, staring at a horizon of something. He started to feel the emotion of missing someone that urges him to open the vintage Aparador he saw. It has full of good memories, as he described. Inside it, he saw a family album that contains an old photograph that brought him in the summer of the 1980s. The photograph illustrates a boy and an adult lady on each other arms. It shouts the everlasting love of a mother to her son. They smiled in great joy as they hold so tight, not worrying about what the future may bring. The writer feels sorrow and at the same time, happy. Sorrow when he realizes he's holding only a piece of history. Happy because he knew that love in the past remains in the present and will forever be in the future.

The photograph in the poem is presented as a return ticket to a moment where the writer and his mother's love was overflowing, where they could feel each other's caress. The poem could not only be a mother-son relationship, but it could also mean the love of a family. Other things may change, but the feeling of love with a family you showed on cameras, in photographs is lasting.

“No matter your age, you always need your mom.” – Anonymous

We have these moments in life where we just sit and reminisce the past, where it made you stop because of the smell of something familiar and it made you think and look back to where it belongs. It made us feel free and it gave us comfort even just for a moment, because the pleasure of reminiscing about our past is the joy of finding ourselves and it made us realize the true value of what life is.

A Photograph is something you can hold in your hands and it flashbacks to the past and it will bring back the memories you once adored for the memories are what we are, what makes us make the decisions we make, and gave us this genuine happiness.

The poem “ Photograph” written by Mr. Penn Tulabing Larena, shows us that a man will always continue to exist and remain his mother’s son, He will always long for her nurturing love no matter his age. When a man finds himself lonely and fearful, burdened by the problems and failures he has gone through. In those times, he will always remember that though life is never too easy, he will always have his mother who believes in him and loves him unconditionally because Mother’s are irreplaceable and they make our lives easier and more beautiful because nothing can ever break a relationship of a mother and son forever.

The poem is about love. A child’s love to his own mother. The album he found is something that no one can explain. It is made of deep realization and of sacrifice and pain. He is the only one who knows the story behind the album in every page he could find. He knows nothing can destroy it or take the memory and love away. The memories are far beyond defining,it defies all explanation and it still remains a secret like the mystery behind the album. Love is patient and forgiving when thing aren’t doing good. It would never fail or falter us. The poem defines it all. We must enjoy what we have or who we have while it still lasts. We must treasure every moment that we can find. The person may be gone but deep inside we know the memories and love the we felt will always stay with us.

Jodi Picoult once said “My mother used to tell me that when push comes to shove, you always know who to turn to. That being a family isn't a social construct but an instinct.”

The poem talks about a mother and a son’s love. This is one of the best poem I ever read in my whole life. The message of this poem is very strong and positive. This poem tells the reader to realise the value of family and relationship to the family, we should learn to love and value our parents, brothers and sisters because nothing last forever.

Interpretation, Thoughts and Comments on the Poem “Photograph”

This poem speaks about how much the writer misses his mother and how colorful it was. For the first stanzas, the writer narrates how he had found an old album. As the poem progresses, he describes his younger self and his mother as a loving family and describes all the memories he had with his mother colorful in contrast with the photo with its colors faded. This had meant that the memories he had with his mother will not fade away.
The third stanza describes the love he had with his mother as pure and flowing.
The fourth describes how the writer had held his mother and how he had forget about his problems.
The fifth describes how much he had loved his mother even after death.
The last stanzas states that his love for his mother will stay forever.
The poem is a powerful and striking one. This makes me think about my mom. I realized that love knows no bounds, not even distance or death can’t take it away. This just proves how powerful love is.
